Entry Level Courses

This is our entry-level certification course where you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to safely dive in open water. During your NAUI Scuba Diver class, you will learn about modern dive equipment, diving sciences, responsible diving practices and the environment. Diving skills will be taught and practiced first in the comfort and convenience of a confined water environment and finally during your open water training dives with your NAUI Instructor.

Extend your dive time, shorten surface intervals, and prolong repetitive dive times! This course can be taken independently or combined with NAUI Scuba Diver or NAUI Advanced Diver programs. Learn about nitrox blending, maximum depth limits, and mixture analysis. Explore oxygen and nitrogen physiology, the advantages of nitrox, oxygen toxicity, handling precautions, and more.

Designed for divers seeking to regain proficiency, this non-certification program offers supervised refresher experience at the Scuba Diver level. If you've taken a break from diving, this course is tailored for you!

Junior divers can get certified as well! Kids aged 10 to 14 can also earn their "Junior" Open Water Scuba Diver, Junior Nitrox Diver and Junior Advanced Diver certifications while those 15 and older receive full certification. Junior certification comes with conditional restrictions.

Continuing Education Courses

Public Safety Diver (PSD) Training

The NAUI Public Safety Diver (PSD) course prepares present and potential PSD team members. It imparts essential skills for underwater search, rescue, and recovery. This program emphasizes safety, knowledge, skills, and practical risk management, adaptable to agency missions. Content covers equipment, communication, search patterns, and more. Water skills encompass dive rescue and roles like primary diver, safety diver, surface support, and dive supervisor. The program adheres to or exceeds NFPA guidelines (excluding swiftwater or ice diving disciplines).

Prerequisites for the NAUI Public Safety Diver (PSD) course include:

  1. Age: Must be 21 years of age by the water phase of the course.
  2. Certifications:
    • NAUI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent.
    • NAUI First Aid for Diving Professionals or equivalent.
  3. Screening Dive:
    • Completion of one open water dive, which doesn't count towards the course's minimum dive requirement. This is optional when the instructor is familiar with the student's diving skills.
  4. Dive Team Membership:
    • Current member of a PSD dive team, demonstrated by the applicant's name on the team roster or a signed letter from a dive team officer.
  5. Special Considerations:
    • Individuals applying or seeking membership in a PSD dive team, not yet assigned to a team, attending a fire/police academy, or part of a police/fire department, may enroll at the instructor's and team or agency's discretion.

NAUI-DAN Medical Courses

Committed to dive safety through education, the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) joined the Divers Alert Network (DAN), the industry’s largest dive safety association, to promote and extend the reach of dive safety programs.

NAUI Technical Diver Training

DiveLogix's Technical Diver Instructors provide NAUI's complete range of Technical Diver training programs. We suggest a minimum of 200 logged open water dives before pursuing technical training. NAUI's Introduction to Technical Diving Course requires at least 25 logged dives with 10 using nitrox. We recommend 50 nitrox dives before considering "Intro to Tech."
